Who we are
CEO and Attorney
Adam is a lawyer and serial entrepreneur. Adam is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Law School. He worked as a litigator for 5 years, including serving as a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit as a Skadden Fellow at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law), and doing commercial litigation at the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton.
Adam then founded the New Media Advocacy Project, which he ran for 8 years. N-Map is one of the world’s leading media and human rights groups, with support from funders like the MacArthur Foundation and Open Society Foundations and recipient of a “New Digital Age” award from Google Chairman Eric Schmidt. Adam grew N-Map to a team of about 30 professionals around the world, then successfully transitioned the organization to new leadership to launch Briefly.
Michael is a versatile and creative technologist, strategist and manager. He has deep experience as an engineer, with expertise in security, payments and blockchain. He’s worked with a diverse set of clients, like Coca-Cola, Hewlett-Packard, Lionsgate, The North Shore Animal League, Hitachi-Aloka, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and a number of local brick and mortar business and non-profits.
In 2006, Michael coined and defined the term "Crowdfunding" during development of one of his projects that catered to independent videobloggers and web show producers by providing 1-click tipping within a community platform.
Scott is a graphic and UI/UX designer with 15 years of experience working in film and video games. Most notably, Scott worked at Activision as lead UI/UX designer on blockbuster game like Destiny, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, and Skylanders.
In 2017, Scott Founded Metabomb Design, where he focuses not only on UI/UX design, but also branding and motion graphics.
Sarah Rosenwald Varet is a New York lawyer residing in Los Angeles, California, with her young son and husband. Before moving to Los Angeles, Sarah worked as an associate in the Trusts & Estates Department of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. For the last year, Sarah has served as a content consultant at Briefly.
Sarah is a graduate of Yale Law School and Brown University. Following law school, Sarah served as a law clerk on both the Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Sarah serves on the board of 826LA a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students living below the poverty line with their writing skills. In addition she serves on the Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Special Gifts Committee for their Beyond … campaign and the Whitney Museum Artists Council. Sarah was a founding member of the Junior Council of Children’s Rights, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating on behalf of abused and neglected children,primarily those in foster care.
